Pre-Season Scouting and Tree Stand Installation Pays HUGE Dividends Knowing where Pope & Young bucks are going to be beforehand, tips the odds greatly in your favor. I love to scout in the pre-season, armed only with a camcorder. It is very important to never enter prime trophy hunting areas until the timing is right. During the early bow season, bucks may not even be near prime rut locations and you may disturb their routine. Save those primo spots until you are almost guaranteed the opportunity to smoke one.
